Gil D. Messina received his juris doctor degree from Suffolk University School of Law in Boston where he received the Am Jur Award for highest achievement in Constitutional Law. He has a masters in law from New York University School of Law. He served as a law clerk for the Honorable Lawrence Cameron, Presiding Justice of the District Court of South Boston. Mr. Messina's practice is concentrated in the areas of complex business litigation, including antitrust, business torts, unfair competition, commercial and contract litigation. Mr. Messina is also a Special Monmouth County Counsel and is responsible for representing several of the county's major departments and agencies, including the Department of Human Services, Department of Health Care Facilities, Solid Waste Advisory Council, Agriculture Development Board and the Monmouth County Correctional Institution. He handles complex litigation matters for the County of Monmouth, in addition to those litigation matters involved in his private practice.
Mr. Messina also specializes in private international trade and international litigation in U.S. courts. He was a member of the Governor's Commission on International Trade and a member of the New Jersey District Export Council. He has lectured extensively on international trade matters for the United States Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration, The Export Advisory Service of Chemical Bank, Brookdale Community College, Middlesex County College and Ocean County College. He is the author of "Legal Aspects of Foreign Agency Agreements" chapter of The International Connection published by AT&T.
