TLA-DC Membership Benefits
TLA-DC's listserve lets members connect and network with other members via e-mail. Several hundred TLA-DC members ask questions, get answers, and exchange information with colleagues using this listserv.
TLA-DC offers various informative educational programs that include 30-45 minute presentations at the Association's six monthly dinner meetings (September-April)and full-day CLE-accredited seminars.
DEPOSITION AND DOCUMENT BANK/FILESHARE
TLA-DC members are entitled to access TrialSmith’s nationwide, online repository of over 250,000 depositions
and legal documents, designed for plaintiff’s lawyers only.TrialSmith is also adding more than 5,000 briefs and 18,000
complete case summaries that were used to exclude experts under Daubert.
With FILESHARE, members will be able to download AT NO COST any document that has been contributed by a TLA-DC member. This is a huge savings and a great member benefit.
Keep sending in your depositions! Please ask your staff to make sure that EVERY transcript you take is
immediately submitted to TrialSmith. Simply Email transcripts to firstname.lastname@example.org. TrialSmith accepts
paper transcripts and provides free conversion to Searchable PDFs for your archived documents. Just pack them up and
send them in with this form.
All TLA-DC members receive our quarterly newsletter, DC Trial, which includes analyses of recent appellate decisions, reports of local verdicts and settlements, and articles on topics of interest to trial lawyers. Click HERE to see past issues of DC Trial.
TLA-DC combats tort "reform" and otherwise promotes and protects our clients' interests in legislative and regulatory spheres.
TLA-DC members receive a free listing in and a free copy of the Association's convenient membership directory, which is published annually.
www.tla-dc.org offers an easy way to access past appellate-case analyses, past verdict-and-settlement reports, an up-to-date membership roster, links to over 150 useful websites, a calendar of upcoming TLA-DC educational programs, and a description of how to use the various TLA-DC membership benefits.
TLA-DC members receive E-Clips, an e-mailed daily synopsis of news articles of interest to trial lawyers.
TLA-DC's AmicusCommittee offers expertly researched and written briefs in support of select cases on appeal that raise broad policy issues of concern to the Association's members.
TLA-DC's several committees provide members opportunities for networking and participation in Association programs and activities.
