Gerard E. Mitchell of Stein, Mitchell & Muse, LLP serves as President of the Board of Directors of the Youth Leadership Foundation (YLF).  The Youth Leadership Foundation operates two successful programs for inner-city D.C. youth in grades 3 through 10 – the Tenley Achievement Program (TAP) for boys and the Program for Academic and Leadership Skills (PALS) for girls.  With its emphasis on the twin goals of Character and Competence, YLF produces stunning results – 97% of YLF students graduate from high school and start college.

Patrick Malone gives free legal advice at the monthly D.C. Bar legal clinic, hosted at Bread for the City at 1525 7th Street NW.  Malone and other attorneys -- representing a range of legal specialities from immigration and bankruptcy to family law, tax and probate issues – give advice to all comers at this clinic on the second Saturday of every month.  Malone’s advice focuses on helping consumers who have legal cases that are too small to afford a full-time lawyer but that are very important to the consumer.
Len Dooren and his family stay as involved as possible in the neighborhood and church – participating in food drives, and giving support to the sick and poor.
